Snap Shots

I took some pictures of Piper yesterday. I wanted to get a couple cute shots of her SWEET thumb sucking! Maybe I'm obsessed with this but our boys never sucked their thumbs and it is just TOO much when Sissy does it!

Happy 9 month Piper!!

Today is Piper's 9 month birthday. We went to Market Place to celebrate... okay, so we went to Market Place because they were having 2 can dine for $19.99 AND kids eat free... but Sissy didn't know, she thinks it's all for her;)
Piper is contagiously cheerful! She's almost always smiling. She loves to scrunch her little nose up! She's pulling up and standing a little bit, which the boys think is the cooooolest! One of the cutest things Piper does is every night when we put her to bed, as soon as she hits the bed she immediately sucks her thumb. It's the sweetest thing ever! She never sucks her thumb when she's up but as soon as she hits the mattress, it's automatic! I LOVE it!

Happy 8 months Sissy

Today is Piper Jane's 8 month birthday! She's doing a really good job at sitting up and that makes us all happy. Now when I'm holding her and I have to go to the bathroom, I can actually sit her down instead of finding some contraption to sit her in... life is much better now:)

She LOVES her mommy!!! If I'm anywhere around and not holding her or sitting by her, she's NOT happy... it's pretty tiring but extra sweet.

Her brothers love her dearly!! They're pretty good little babysitters when I have to leave the room for a second. Very protective.. I'm sure this is just a sign of things to come:)

We tried some new baby food this weekend that she was not fond of...

We love you Piper Jane and are really enjoying watching you grow!

This is what I've been waiting for...

she's sitting up SO well. Today she has probably sat on the ground, without falling, for a few hours. I've been waiting for her to sit so we could get some cute pictures of her:). The pictures turned out really good BUT she was a little cranky. It was right before bedtime. The last one is one of my favs because she's starting to get huffy puffy, as Parker would say:). She really is such a joy!!

Happy 7 month Piper Jane

Piper Jane is 7 months today. She is definitely going through some major stranger danger right now. My cousin Amy and her husband Brian came to stay a few days and Piper was not about to let them see her smile. It was so funny. She is such a momma's girl. She did actually warm up to Brian and Amy not long before they left but it took quite some time. Today we decorated our tree. The kids had a great time. The boys were SO excited to put up all the ornaments. Mrs. Mindy made some with them last year and they were really excited to get those out and hang them up again:). I took a couple of pics of Piper by the tree. She's doing pretty good at sitting up.
We all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We loved spending time with Amy and Brian. Amy and I went shopping on Black Friday and got a Wii Fit. It's been super fun! I told Cam I'm gonna be "bowed up from the flo up".. hehe.. just kidding but it is QUITE the workout!

Happy 6 months Piper Jane! *updated*

It's hard to believe Sissy will be 6 months old tomorrow. Our family just wouldn't be near as joyful without her. Mommy and Daddy LOVE holding and loving on her and Andrew and Parker love watching her learn new things. Parker literally can't keep his hands, or lips, off of her:). We love you Sissy!!

Such a joy...

Piper is such a joy to be around. She is almost always happy and LOVES her mommy. She follows me around everywhere (with her eyes:). We just can't get enough of sweet Piper Jane.

Princess Piper

I'm home again today with poor Andrew:(. He seemed to be getting better but had a really bad night last night. He coughed for about 1 1/2 hours. At times he had a hard time catching his breath because he couldn't quit coughing. It was scary. I took him back this morning to the doc (of course a different doctor/the same one who thought it was croup:/. She gave him an inhaler. She said she would've given him a steroid but hated to because it was his first visit.. I'm like HELLO... we've been here 3 times in 1 week. Anywho, I'm hoping the inhaler works. She seems to be convinced he's going to have asthma. I'm hoping not. She said his lungs were really dark like an asthmatic but it could just be the pneumonia.
We sat outside some this morning and Andrew brought me some flowers for baby Piper:). I took some pics with my phone. She's such a little bundle of sunshine:).

Okay, I just had to:)... I saw the glasses sitting on the floor just begging to hop on Piper's face. I couldn't resist snapping a couple of pics with my phone. Cameron came around the corner and said, "WHAT are you doing to her?":)

Tonight Andrew was telling us something at the table and all of the sudden Piper started cracking up:). The boys then proceeded to try to make her laugh....

Happy 4 month Sweet Piper Jane & Muffins for Moms

Piper is 4 months old today. She is still just the sweetest little thing. Her favorite things to do right now are talk, pull her tongue out, spit and flip over:).


This morning was "Muffins for Moms" at Kindergarten. It was so much fun. I've got the cutest pictures of Andrew with some of his friends. There are four of them standing by each other with their arms around each other. As I was taking it I was thinking how we'll probably look back on it when he graduates. I would upload it but don't want to put pics of kiddos on the internet that I don't really know well. Maybe I can do some cute censoring:).
God has really burdened me for a couple of kiddos in Andrew's class. One of them is just unruly but he's dealing with a lot of yucky stuff at home. Then there's another one who Andrew talks about some. I noticed today that his mom didn't come to muffins for moms. I can't go into detail but have learned some really heart breaking things about him, also. I have some free time in my schedule and asked Andrew's teacher if it would be okay if I could come in and work with these two. She thought that would be a great idea. I can't share their names but please pray for them. My heart literally just breaks for these sweet babies.

Welcome to elementary and flipper...

This afternoon I got my first taste of being a mommy to an elementary tyke. Andrew's first homework assignment was to decorate a gingerbread man. We were suppose to help him find things around the house to use to decorate. I thought he did a great job. He used a washer that he found on the street this week, he used some colorful mini cotton balls and a feather. He had a lot of fun doing it. Today at lunch time I visited with a mommy of a peer in Andrew's class. All of the sudden she whips out their gingerbread man. My first thought was, "I wonder if Mrs. Hartwick has seen Andrew's yet... maybe I can sneak in and take it back and help him redecorate". You should've seen their little gingerbread man. It was AMAZING! His mommy must have planned this decoration for a while, I just sat there and watched Andrew decorate his, I didn't really help at all. I mean, don't think I didn't want to. I knew that he only needed to add one wooden heart, instead of two but I bit my tongue and let it be. I guess I should've called in Martha Stewart:).

Piper Jane usually takes a short nap in the evening. She was sleepy so I went and put her down to sleep but apparently she wasn't having it. She didn't want a nap. So after a few minutes of her crying Cameron went to get her and noticed she had flipped over. We lay her on her belly and she had turned over to her back:).

One more post for the day:)... I had a couple of pics of sweet girl that I wanted to post. The boys all went to Grandmommy's house and me and Sissy stayed home to do laundry. While I was folding clothes, I ran across these cute bloomers and Sissy suggested we take a couple of pics in them. How could I tell that cute face NO?

Just a little update on Sister Girl...

Piper has still been sleeping great, even with all the traveling chaos. She's been waking up somewhere around 6:30 and after I feed her she falls back to sleep for a while.
We decided to buy some disposables diapers for our trip because we didn't think we'd have room to lug around dirty cloth diapers. She had 2 leaky diapers. This was her first time to have a leaky diaper, we've never had that with our cloth diapers. They were yucky, too. She leaked poo poo all over 2 of her outfits:(. Luckily I brought one cloth diaper to wear with her wedding outfit so she didn't have any embarrassing moments at the wedding:).

Happy 3 month Birthday Piper Jane!

Piper was born April 29th, exactly 3 months ago today. She's been such a wonderful blessing to our family. We all love her so much!! Her favorite things are listening to mommy talk to her, being swaddled, waking up and getting out of the swaddle, blowing spit bubbles and chewing on her hands.

Many people ask if it's been harder having 3 kids and I would have to say, "NO!" Maybe it's because Piper is such a sweet baby. Ask me again in a few years or when they're all in their teens and my answer may change;).

Where is mommy's sweet girl??...

... that's pretty much all it takes for some sweet little smiles:). She sat in her bumbo tonight and was so sweet I had to take a few pics of her. She really is a very content, happy baby. I just can't get enough!!

Praise the Lord!

Last night Piper and I were in a car accident. We were going to pick up a baby book at Hallmark and were hit pretty hard. I was in the turning lane about to turn onto Lower Ridge Rd and a lady was pulling out of there and I'm assuming she was going to pull straight into the turning lane except she didn't look to see if anyone was in the turning lane and she hit us really hard, my car spun around. I don't know if I've ever been so scared. I saw it about to happen the second before it happened and I left off of my brake so she wouldn't hit mine or Piper's door and she barely missed Piper's door. We were spun around into traffic and there was a 3 car pile up not far behind us. I was sooo scared. I jumped out and pulled Piper out. She was horrified. It was sooo loud and jolting. The fireman wanted us to both go to the ER to get checked out. The doc said he thought she was fine and after x-raying me said I had whiplash.
The lady that hit us was unbelievable. She came up and gave me her business card (she's some sort of pastor) and asked if the cops needed to come. I couldn't believe it. I could barely stand up b/c I was shaking so badly and so worried about Piper. Not to mention, my car was pretty messed up. She never said another word to me, never asked about sweet Piper. I was so disappointed. My prayer for her is that God will give her compassion for others, or at least that she'll not ever hand out another business card claiming to be a pastor when she shows no display of love or compassion.
I can't even begin to describe how grateful I am this morning that we're okay. Things could have easily gone the other way. As Cam and I were leaving our hospital room in the ER we saw two men wheeling away someone who wasn't quite so fortunate. Earlier that night we had seen about 30 people waiting at the ER and we knew they were all family, I'm assuming they were the ones to receive the bad news about their loved one. My thoughts and prayers are with them.

Okay, maybe it's just me...

..but isn't this the cutest bow you've ever seen. I found it on etsy.com. A site that sells all homemade items, which is also where I got my diaper bag. The actual site I found this bow on is here. I also bought a cute yellow one. Since Piper loves them sooo much, I'm sure she'll be wearing them all the time:).

1 month old today....

Piper is one month old today:). She went for her one month weight check and weighs 10 lbs and 6 oz. She's a pretty healthy little girl. She's not quite as big as the boys were at this point. Andrew was almost 13 lbs at his 1 month visit. Isn't that crazy?? Especially with having little ole me as mommy. I always feel like I give birth to a baby that's a few months old instead of a newborn.
Piper is still doing really well, not very fussy at all. I'm so thankful for this. We're really, really enjoying her.
A little randomness...
Yesterday I checked the mail and there was a Victoria Secret catalog in there. I usually just throw the junk mail away when I bring it in but was in a hurry and set all of it on the table. Eventually Andrew got all of it down and a few minutes later I hear him kissing something. I look and he had the catalog and I said, "what are you doing?" he said, "I just love these pretty girls". WHAT?? isn't that crazy? I'll make sure and throw the junk mail away next time.
